There are basically only two things I wanted to mention within the confines of this journal entry.
One is that I'm rehashing Counter-Clockwork completely. For those of you that don't know, I published a single chapter of a work-in-progress last June (yes, it really was that long ago) on FF.Net, but never got back to it. I blush to admit that I hadn't even thought of a proper plot when I put it up - I was kind of expecting it to write itself. But now I've mulled over it for nearly a year and the story is vastly different from its original incarnation. I'd like to think it's much better, too. In the meantime plot bunnies are festering, but I think I'll leave them alone while I'm working on Counter-Clockwork, so that way they'll grow bigger and fluffier for when I need them later on.

The second thing is that, in order to keep us from drifting apart as we tend to do when we grow older, three of my friends and I are trying to maintain a forum together. For a while it's just been sitting there not doing anything, but I challenged myself and each of my friends to make an RP on the site. Each RP on the site takes up one board for the roleplay area, out-of-character discussion and character profiles. All of us have to come up with a setting (universe, time period, history, etc), a set of rules, and a plot line for the RP to follow. One friend is doing a highschool RP, another is doing an interesting fantasy/adventure RP, and a third seems to be doing some sort of asylum/sci-fi RP (though she seems like she hasn't decided yet).

Here is my dilemma: While all of my friends seem to at least have a vague outline of what they want, I've torn through so many ideas in my head that the creative part of my brain is shredded and useless, and now I'm grasping for straws. I really don't want to make it a Fanfiction-esque RP, so that outs Danny Phantom, and aside from that I'm at a loss. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Highschool RPs are already taken (and while there are no explicit guidelines about not copying one another, I'm not going to turn this into a contest by trying to one-up my friends), so what else is there?

Do you guys have any ideas? I don't want novels here - I certainly don't want to steal your creative work - but maybe if you have a vague starting point that I could work with it would help me out a bit.
